SHORT BIO

I am Associate Professor at the Danish Centre for Health Economics at the University of Southern Denmark and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Health Economics at Imperial College London, and at the University of Manchester.

My research focuses on the organisation and performance of the health care sector with a particular interest in the design and effects of incentives for the quality of care. My research takes point of departure in the economic theory of incentives and often involves the microeconometric analysis of large administrative data sets. Current interests include pay and penalties for performance, models of integrated care, and the impact of clinical guidelines.

I earned an MSc in Economics (2008) and a PhD in Economics (2012) from the University of Southern Denmark. Prior to joining Imperial College I was a Research Fellow and later Lecturer in Health Economics at the Manchester Centre for Health Economics at the University of Manchester from 2012-2017. I have  held visiting positions at the University of Southern Denmark and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

I am keen to be in dialogue about my research with academic as well as non-academic audiences and have given talks to policy makers, practitioners, and academics. If something catches your interest, please get in touch!
